Break out the yoga pants, come ready to ‘Stretch for Stella’

The "Stretch for Stella" fundraiser is Saturday afternoon, July 21.

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- The "Stretch for Stella" fundraiser is Saturday afternoon, July 21, in honor of 8-month-old Stella Louise Paul, who's waiting for a new heart.

WHAS11 told you about her story in April, born with a congenital heart disease and later saved by 75 minutes of CPR.

Her family has spent months inside Norton Children's Intensive Care Unit and hopes to be able to give back by raising money for the new Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Their goal, $50,000. Families can choose how they would like their donations to be spent.

"We love the nurses here. The nurses take care of Stella and they take care of us, and they give her lotsof love, care and attention in addition to the patient care. So we'd like to give back to them by giving them a nice nurses lounge with Stella's name on it," her mother Mari-Elise Paul said.

Stella's mom said you do not have to be an expert at yoga to join in on the fun during Saturday's fundraiser.

Head on over to Betsy’s Hot Yoga off Shelbyville Road. The class is from 12:30 to 2 p.m. It's free to attend. Instead, you're asked to make a donation in any amount.

If you can't be there in person, you can still donate online by clicking here.
