LONDON, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A former basketball player for the University of Kentucky ended up back in jail last night.
Richie Farmer was arrested around 6:30 pm Thursday evening for DUI, according to WKYT.
Witnesses said he nearly hit other cars head-on. According to a police report, his speech was slurred, and he failed a sobriety test. Police said he admitted to taking hydrocodone, pain reliever and muscle relaxants.
In 2016, Farmer was convicted of misusing government funds during his tenure as Agriculture Commissioner.
He was released from the Laurel County Jail in London, KY on his own recognizance at 9:01 pm, according to jail officials.
A court date has not been set at this time.
