JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) — The Jeffersonville Fire Department are working the scene of a house fire that sent at least one person to the hospital on Tuesday.
According to a Facebook post, the fire was in the 900 block of East Chestnut Street in downtown Jeffersonville. The department was notified just before 11 a.m. and 26 firefighters responded. The firefighters managed to get the fire under control within 20 minutes of the alarm.
Officials have confirmed that one occupant was taken to the hospital, but they do not know how severely the person was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the JFD Fire Marshal’s Office.
