LOUISVILLE, ky. (WHAS11) -- Thank you, Kentuckiana! You raised $14,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana during our Christmas telethon on WHAS11. Kosair Charities stepped in with a surprise check of $10,000.
The nonprofit uses your money to create the successful mentor matches that we’ve been profiling on our newscasts for 29 years now. It costs them $1500 to create one single match. The police/security background checks are costly and the rest of the money is used to help the match land on its feet.
