LOUISVILLE, Ky. — (WHAS11)-All southbound lanes of I-265 near Smyrna Parkway have been reopened and given the all-clear by authorities Wednesday after a garbage truck caught on fire.
TRIMARC cameras showed the truck in flames on the right shoulder of I-265S at around 9 a.m. October 2. Crews were on the scene trying to extinguish the fire. According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the garbage truck is powered by propane.
MetroSafe confirmed that no injuries have been reported, but LMPD said that portion of the Gene Synder will be closed through evening commute and officials are recommending drivers find an alternate route.
