Grace McKenna joined the WHAS11 team in May 2021. She now co-anchors "Good Morning Kentuckiana" weekdays 4:30 a.m. - 7:00 a.m.
Grace is a born and raised Atlanta girl, so the passion Louisvillians have for their home feels very familiar. She’s thrilled to land in a city with just as much joy and hometown pride as her own.
Grace is a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina Honors College (go Gamecocks!) with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. On any given Saturday in the fall, you can find her wherever Gamecock football is playing on TV.
After graduating from USC, Grace moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee to start her career as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WRCB-TV. She spent most of her two years in the Scenic City up with the sun as a morning reporter. That’s where she learned the true value of good news, giving a community both the important information it needs and the stories about its people that it craves.
While in Chattanooga, Grace covered everything from major elections to a devastating tornado outbreak to the return of huge events after COVID restrictions lifted.
Grace is devoted to telling the stories of her community and its people. The real story is always deeper than the headline, and she is passionate about finding how and why events are changing lives.
When she’s not in the newsroom, you can find Grace baking in the kitchen, at the gym or reading and relaxing outside. She loves her cat, Walter, spending time with her friends and exploring Louisville’s food scene (hit her with some recommendations, local hidden gems are a must).
