Travis Breese joined WHAS11 in August of 2022 as a Multi-skilled journalist on the FOCUS Investigative Team.
Travis comes to Louisville after spending three years reporting for a local news station in Eastern Iowa, and two years reporting while in college in Mid-Missouri.
Travis loves following up on viewer tips, finding issues that aren't covered enough and combing through long documents. He has a particular passion for court cases, environmental issues and state government.
While in Iowa, Travis covered many large, national news events: including the 2020 Iowa Caucus, the August '20 derecho windstorm in Cedar Rapids, and the John Deere strike in the fall of '21. Travis was the Iowa City bureau reporter but helped cover stories all around the eastern half of Iowa.
Travis is originally from Southern California but has a hankering to see many different parts of the country. He was born in Los Angeles, and then moved to San Diego for middle and high school. His intro to the midwest was attending the University of Missouri from 2015 - 2019.
Other than being a news reporter, Travis had some other odd jobs while in college, including being a cashier/drive through operator at a BBQ restaurant.
He says it was the most fun job he's ever had, but also made him a BBQ snob when it comes to brisket, pulled pork and ribs.
