LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Orchestra is celebrating this week after receiving a huge nomination for the upcoming 2024 GRAMMY Awards.
On Thursday, the orchestra announced it was nominated for Best Classical Instrumental Solo for their performance in "The American Project" alongside world-renowned pianist Yuja Wang and conductor Teddy Abrams.
According to a news release, the collaboration has garnered critical acclaim and "captivated audiences with its innovative approach and breathtaking artistry."
"We are incredibly honored to be nominated," Abrams said. "This nomination is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our talented musicians, as well as the incredible collaboration with Yuja Wang. We are grateful for the recognition and excited to represent the Louisville Orchestra on such a prestigious platform."
The Louisville Orchestra is one of the nation's oldest continuously performing orchestras. Earlier this year, the orchestra and Louisville Chamber Choir performed with another world-renowned artist, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, inside Mammoth Cave.
The 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on Sunday, Feb. 4, at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, California.
