University of Louisville Student to appear on American Idol

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Daniel La Rota gets to show Kentucky his talents with his American Idol audition.

LaRota is currently a University of Louisville but he couldn't give any spoilers about his upcoming audition but he thinks people will be proud of his performance.

"Yeah I can’t give any spoilers, but I think yeah, people will be proud of me for putting myself out there. for me to do that I’ve already heard great things from it," LaRota said.

LaRota says the audition was a beautiful experience.

"Auditioning in front of Lionel Luke and Katy was ridiculous to me. It’s sort of like I blacked out, and I just woke up after and vaguely remember a dream. I remember when I first walked in, I was like wow these guys are beautiful," LaRota said.

Catch Daniel on March 8 at 8 p.m. as he auditions for his chance to be the next American Idol.
