Welcome back! Stephen Colbert organized a reunion of The Daily Show's stars and correspondents on Tuesday's Late Show, and it was filled with laughs, throwback footage, and Ku Klux Klan stories.
The late night host started the show with a sketch in which he and former Daily Show host Jon Stewart rushed to bring a sub sandwich and Coke to current host Trevor Noah.
Colbert then brought his pal Stewart out for a solo interview in which the comedian poked fun at Colbert's recent scandal.

"I'm not comfortable. I don't feel comfortable. I'll tell you why I don't feel comfortable," Stewart joked. "I've been reading about you. I've been seeing you in the news. You have a potty mouth."
"That I do. I learned it from you, Dad," Colbert replied, laughing.
Stewart went on to seriously address the controversy in which Colbert had recently made a crude joke about President Donald Trump on the show.
"The things that you say, even if they're crass or even if in some ways they're not respectful enough to the office of the presidency, we can insult, he can injure," Stewart said of Trump. "It's the difference between insult and injury. For the life of me, I do not understand why in this country we hold comedians to a standard we do not hold leaders to. It's bizarre."
He added that he is enjoying retirement, but some political moments have made him miss addressing the world.
"There are nights where I find myself sort of, impotently shouting into the abyss. Which, if you think about it, isn't that different from what I did on a daily basis," he joked. "But the things that I've gained in terms of time spent with family and things like that, I wouldn't give up."

Colbert then brought out a group of Stewart's former correspondents including Samantha Bee, Ed Helms, John Oliver, and Rob Corddry.
"This really does look like a group of students coming back to see Mr. Holland at the end. It's the end and I've done it all," Stewart quipped of the film Mr. Holland's Opus.
The cast reflected on their time with The Daily Show, noting that it was not a glamorous gig.
"I would spend days with the worst homophobes and the worst people you could possibly imagine," Bee recalled. "You have to get them to engage in this big sketch that you've done and you've taken three airplanes to get there. And you need them to give you some content so you have to be really nice to them all day."
"Big homophobes are never around good travel hubs," Stewart noted.
Colbert then told the story of his second field shoot in which he attended a Ku Klux Klan meeting and did a stand-up spot in front of a cross burning.
"We went out to a cross burning in the summertime, as you do," Colbert said, noting the Klan didn't take kindly to the Comedy Central show. "There are guys, big guys in hoods saying to me, 'Comedy, what? What is this now? Where are y'all from?'"
Colbert then directed their attention to his female producer.
"And as you know, all the producers are short Jews. Basically he's sending a small mouse into a lion's den!" Stewart added.
Luckily, Colbert's producer thought quickly on her feet.
"She goes, 'Look guys, the president of the Klan is over there across the field. He knows all about what we're doing. Go talk to him.' And they said, 'We're going to!' And they all walk off across the field. And she goes, 'HAUL A**!' And we ran as fast as we could," Colbert recalled.
