LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Grammy-winning musician Jon Batiste will be one of the special guests at Louisville Urban League's Derby gala this spring.
The annual Derby gala, "Mardi Gras Louisville," will happen on May 1.
According to a news release, this fundraising event in support of the Urban League's mission to "foster economic empowerment in historically underserved urban communities, with a focus on jobs, justice, education, health, housing, and Black business."
The event will feature musical artists Jon Batiste and DJ Mannie Fresh.
Batiste is a 20-time Grammy nominee, 5-time Grammy award winner, and recent Oscar nominee for his documentary, “American Symphony.”
Fresh is a record producer, DJ, and hip-hop artist. He has 17 certified multi-platinum, platinum, or gold records.
