'It's kind of like a family': Kentucky Flea Market takes over Expo Center

It will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — More than 800 vendors descended on the Kentucky Expo Center for the weekend in the hopes of satisfying the craving of bargain shoppers.

They'll be there from Friday to New Year's Day, according to a post on their social media. The event itself is free, and parking is half off. While parking is $12 per vehicle, you can get $6 back with any purchase.

John Stuart's grandfather started the flea market 50 years ago.

"When you've been out here for 50 years, it's kind of a tradition for families to come out and shop. it's good to see different generations shopping," he said. "There's a lot of venders out here. I'm 47 years old and there's vendors out here that remember me as a baby. It's kind of like a family, and the shoppers are too."

Some of the items you can expect to see include antiques, collectibles, electronics, clothing and more according to their social media.

It will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday.

On Saturday, all items in the Overstock Sale Area will be $5, then on Sunday they will be $3. But on Monday, everything in that section will be a dollar.
