LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Legendary metal band Slayer will return to Louisville next year to headline Louder than Life 2025, officials announced Wednesday.
The music festival will take place at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center from Sept. 18-21.
Slayer was originally expected to headline at this year's Louder than Life on Friday, Sept. 27, however remnants from Hurricane Helene forced organizers to cancel that day's concerts due to heavy rain and strong winds.
“We can’t wait to welcome fans back to finish what we started this year and celebrate the return of Slayer,” Danny Wimmer, of Danny Wimmer Presents, said. “Our team is hard at work finalizing an incredible lineup that we can’t wait to reveal this winter. It’s going to be epic, and we can’t wait to see everyone back in Louisville next September.”
Louder than Life passholders affected by the weather cancellation will receive special benefits when purchasing passes for next year's festival.
If you had a single-day pass for that Friday, you can receive a full refund or have credit applied to the purchase of next year's passes. Weekend passholders can also have credit applied to the purchase of a 2025 pass or they can receive a 25% refund.
Fans should receive an email with details on how to activate their offer, officials said.
Additional headline performances will be announced later this year, according to officials.
Early bird passes will also go on sale in November. Fans can sign up to receive the latest updates here.
More than 150,000 people attended the three-day Louder than Life festival in 2024, which celebrated its 10-year anniversary.
