Louisville Ballet warns against ticket scalpers and resellers for upcoming performances

Scalpers and secondary ticket brokers frequently create websites that mimic the appearance of Louisville Ballet’s official site to deceive customers.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Ballet is warning patrons about possible ticket scams for their upcoming season.

"As we approach our highly anticipated performance season, Louisville Ballet urges patrons to exercise caution when purchasing tickets," a news release said. "Tickets sold through unauthorized third-party vendors, scalpers, and resellers are often sold at inflated prices and will not be valid for entry."

Scalpers and secondary ticket brokers frequently create websites that mimic the appearance of Louisville Ballet’s official site to deceive customers.

These platforms typically sell tickets on speculation, meaning tickets might not exist or be for seats that don't exist.

Patrons could pay significantly more than the face value of the ticket for Louisville Ballet performances, if they fall for these scams.

Tickets purchased from these sites are not official and won't be accepted so you could miss the show.

For guaranteed tickets patrons should only buy tickets through their website or by calling the box office directly at (502) 583-2623.

"Tickets purchased through these official channels ensure a seamless experience, priority access to future events, and peace of mind," the release said.

Please be aware of these unauthorized resell platforms:

If you’ve already purchased tickets through a secondary broker, there is the risk that these tickets could be counterfeit.

In cases of counterfeit tickets, it's recommend you contact your bank for assistance and filing a report with the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

You can submit a complaint to the BBB via their Online Complaint System.
