Louisville's own Bryson Tiller wins 2 BET Awards

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – R&B artist Bryson Tiller has earned two statues at the 2016 BET Awards.

Tiller, who received notable buzz for his TRAPSOUL album, walked away with Best Male R&B / Pop Artist and Best New Artist.

"It's my first award ever man, I just want to say thank you to anybody who listened to TRAPSOUL," he said.

Upon winning the Best New Artist Award, Tiller dedicated his award to the city of Louisville and Muhammad Ali.

Tiller also received a standing ovation as he performed a medley of his hit singles "Exchange" and “Don’t.”

Tiller's TRAPSOUL album was released last October and debuted at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart.
