CLEVELAND — When the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland announced the 2024 inductees Sunday night, Cher was among those on the list.
But months before she was even nominated for induction, Cher expressed her frustration with not already being in the Rock Hall during an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show last December.
The conversation happened while Clarkson was noting all of the number ones Cher has held throughout seven decades.
“I’m not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Cher said.
Some members of the audience expressed their surprise as you could hear a few say, “What?”
“Wait. Are you serious?” Clarkson asked.
Cher then offered this reply: “You know what? I wouldn’t be in it now if they gave me a million dollars. I’m not kidding you.”
She also said she would never change her mind about it.
“They can just go you-know-what themselves,” Cher said. “Also, could I just say one other thing? I changed music forever with Believe.”

Two months later, Cher received her first-ever nomination for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame -- and now she has officially been named as one of this year’s inductees.
Since her induction was confirmed, Cher has not posted any reaction or response as of 11 a.m. Tuesday.
In addition to Cher, the class of 2024 includes Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Matthews Band, Kool & the Gang, Mary J. Blige, Peter Frampton and more. You can see the full list HERE.
This year's induction ceremony will be held at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in downtown Cleveland on Saturday, Oct. 19.
