LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Officials with the WHAS Crusade for Children have awarded the first grant from the 66th telethon’s tote board total.
CASA of Bullitt County received a check for $16,000.
Crusade CEO Dawn Lee along with the Zoneton Fire Department were on hand for the check presentation.
“We have over 500 children here in the system and we don’t have enough volunteers to continue serving additional children in the system. So this money will help continue our mission basically serving the children of Bullitt County,” executive director Cindy Prestigiacomo said.
That grant to CASA of Bullitt County is the first of 218 grants going to agencies which serve children or children with special needs throughout Kentucky and southern Indiana.
