Artist behind Louisville's Daniel Boone statue becomes newest Hometown Hero

The woman who sculpted Louisville's famous Daniel Boone statue that survived the 1974 tornadoes is being honored.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The woman who sculpted Louisville's famous Daniel Boone statue that survived the 1974 tornadoes is being honored. The nearly year-long tribute to artist Enid Bland Yandell starts Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 4 PM at 21c Hotel, with an opening reception for a gallery exhibit and the dedication of the Hometown Hero banner on the Harbison Building. The events include bus tours of her work, book discussions, birthday celebrations and more at the Filson Historical Society, Speed Museum and Frazier History Museum.
