LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball coach Adolph Rupp was the winningest coach in college basketball when he retired in 1972, with four national championships, 27 SEC championships and 876 wins. He is the subject of a new book called “Adolph Rupp and the Rise of Kentucky Basketball.” In the book, Author James Duane Bolin chronicles how Kentucky's love for the sport ascended along with that of "The Baron of the Bluegrass,” and how Rupp's ambition eventually led to his downfall. Bolin is a professor emeritus of history at Murray State University and he stopped by Great Day Live to talk about the book and the man who inspired it. You can find the book at local bookstores and online at KentuckyPress.com.
