A one woman show is celebrating Mary Shelley, the creator one of the world’s most famous monsters 200 years ago. Shelley was just a teenager when she finished writing her first novel that gave life to the creature in “Frankenstein.” The book was published in 1818 when Shelley was 21. The book later inspired adaptations ranging from silent films, to Rocky Horror Picture Show. On Thursday, August 30, 2018 the Lawrenceburg, KY actress Whitney Thornberry will bring her back to life with the show, “Mary and Her Monsters.” The show, which will take place at the Louisville Free Public Library’s Main Library at 6:30 PM, tells the story of Shelley’s life before Frankenstein, her inspirations for the book, her marriage to Percy Shelley and her life after the book’s publication.
