'You have to dance and sing and act': JCPS student lands part in national touring show

The show will tour through 48 states this spring including the Brown Theater in April.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One Louisville student is headed to the big stage!

Jefferson County Public School fifth grader Karsen Taylor just got a spot on a national touring musical.

Taylor is a fifth grader at Stopher Elementary School in east Louisville.

She was one of 7,000 who auditioned for a spot in the touring show "Hits The Musical" and she got it!

"You have to dance and sing and act and its kind of like, I collaborate with different people to make a really great show," Taylor said.

Her parents told WHAS11 they will be going on tour with her.

The show will tour through 48 states this spring including the Brown Theater in April.
