Nearly a dozen puppies found crammed inside box left alone in Henry County

SULPHUR, Kentucky — An animal shelter in Henry County is asking the public for help in locating the person who abandoned nearly a dozen puppies.

The Henry Trimble Animal Shelter said 11 pups from three different litters were found crammed inside a small box that had been taped shut and left in the middle of the road on the bridge at Sulphur Dam on Hoskins Lane.

"Some are in very bad condition, others not as bad," officials wrote on Facebook.

Officials shared photos of the dogs under heat lamps, adding that they are currently in a temporary foster and will be "OK for now."

The shelter is asking the community to help find the person who left the dogs in the cold. Anyone who may recognize the dogs is asked to call the shelter at 502-667-1055.
