LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Department announced in a social media post Thursday night a beloved member of the K-9 unit has passed away.
Belle served the Louisville community as a bomb detection dog since 2019. For the last two years, her partner has been Sergeant Jenn Knopf.
According to the LMPD Facebook post, Belle lost her battle against cancer recently, however, the department says she was surrounded by love.
"Rest in peace Belle, we have the watch from here," LMPD said.
