'They could have ran onto Newburg Road': LMAS finds 5 puppies that were dumped in their parking lot

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time this has happened at LMAS.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Animal Services (LMAS) said someone broke the law when they dumped at least five puppies in its parking lot on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, LMAS said this isn't the first time this has happened.

This time, the shelter found the five dogs and brought them safely inside, but they said it could have ended differently.

"The worst outcome is they could have ran onto Newburg Road and got hit by a car so they were real close to that Newburg Road and we don't want that to happen we encourage everybody to come inside," Adam Hamilton from LMAS said.

"More than likely it was their puppies they didn't want to deal with having to hold on to them so they thought it was probably best to just bring them here and leave them."

LMAS said if you do bring any animals in, to make sure you bring an I.D. with you. They said many times they have had to turn people away because they didn't bring any identification.

If you are interested in adopting from LMAS, you can see their adoptable pets here.
