'A new chapter' | Khalil's restaurant announces closure; here's what's replacing it

Owner Khalil Batshon said his restaurant will be embarking on a new journey.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Valley Station business known for its food and entertainment has announced its closure after 13 years.

Owner Khalil Batshon said “Khalil’s” will close on Aug. 31.

He called the Dixie Highway restaurant a “labor of love” and was proud of what he and his team of employees achieved for more than a decade.

“This success is a testament to the resilience and passion of our team and the unwavering support of our community,” Batshon said in a statement. “We want to express our deepest gratitude to our incredible team and loyal customers. Over the years, many of you have become like family, and your support has been the cornerstone of our success.

While Batshon’s business will now focus solely on catering, he said another restaurant will open in its space.

He said they are passing the torch to Clucker’s Wings whom he says shares “Khalil’s” commitment to quality and community.

Batshon said he is working closely with the restaurant to provide opportunities for their staff to join their team.

Before “Khalil’s” closes on Saturday, they have a week of events planned for the community.

  • Monday: Music Bingo Night - Test your music knowledge and win prizes!
  • Tuesday: Family Feud - Bring your family and friends for a night of friendly competition.
  • Wednesday: Live Music Jam Session - Enjoy an open jam session with local talents.
  • Thursday: Live Music by Jeremy Sharfe - Experience an unforgettable performance.
  • Friday: Live Music by Cheating on Tucker - End the week with a bang!
