Popular seafood restaurant closing in NuLu area

The Seafood Lady opened up two years ago, replacing the Old Louisville location.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A popular restaurant in the NuLu area is closing it's doors for the last time on Saturday.

Seafood Lady owner Nichelle Thurston told WHAS11 News this Saturday will be the last day for the location on Jefferson Street near Hancock Street.

The restaurant opened up two years ago, replacing the Old Louisville location.

She said they still plan to operate the food truck.

The Seafood Lady made news in March of 2022 when three men began shooting through the windows of the restaurant, injuring four people inside.

In May 2023, Louisville Metro Police released photos from surveillance cameras of the three men firing the shots.

So far, no arrests have been made. That same month, Thurston said things had finally returned to normal after the shooting.
