Kentucky students build platform for classmate who uses wheelchair

A Facebook post said the new tables in one of the school's maker spaces are great for everyone except Sophie, who uses a wheelchair.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Students at Campbellsville Independent Schools went above and beyond in helping lift a young classmate, quite literally.

In a Facebook post, the tables in one of the school's maker spaces are great for everyone except Sophie, who uses a wheelchair.

The tables do not lower to her height, so the students built a platform so she can work at the same height as everyone else.

They sketched out the design, and with the help of a construction crew, built the rolling platform for Sophie's wheelchair.

They said the next step is to add some custom pain and cool designs, which is already in the works.
