Kentucky Kingdom donates $10,000 to Norton Children's Hospital

Santa also helped pass out toys they collected to the children as well!

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The children's hospital in downtown Louisville just received a large donation from the Metro's theme park on Wednesday.

Kentucky Kingdom Theme and Water Park donated a $10,000 check to Norton Children's Hospital.

It was part of the park's Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom event; organizers said they have collected toys from guests for children as well as the money from a portion of their ticket sales over the last few weeks.

"There may be patients over the holidays and this will give them an opportunity to still be able to celebrate the way that they celebrate and be able to bring some toys and some cheer to this season for them," Development Manager Jennifer Metro said.

Santa helped distribute those toys too.

"The patients will really, really love seeing Santa today as well as receiving toys that the community has gathered to bring joy this holiday season," Metro said.

Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom runs through Jan. 4.
