LOUISVILLE, Ky. — More than 30 Kosair Kids were pampered like princesses with a special tea party in their honor.
Kosair for Kids hosted their second Kosair Kids Princess Tea for girls with differing abilities at the Kentucky Castle in Versailles on Sunday.
The organization said a special fairy godmother, who also is a big donor, provided dresses for each girl and even sent a special message through a “magic mirror”.
The girls received tiaras, costume jewelry and dolls of their favorite characters when they arrived.
UK’s dance team helped with the pampering by doing makeup, hair and nails.
The organization said the girls walked a pink carpet leading into the ballroom and were surprised with a visit from Disney princesses Tiana, Cinderella and Elsa. They learned how to twirl and even experienced story time.
The castle experience was special for both princesses and their families, who Kosair said was a “much needed escape.”
“It’s just the fact that they can have fun, be themselves, not have to worry about everything, all of the medicine, all of the needle sticks, and all of those things,” Brittany Eaton, Kosair Kid Maddy’s mom, said. “You can be yourself and dance and just have fun.”
Kosair for Kids said all the princesses treated like royalty received assistance from their charity. Some of the girls have battled cancer while others receive assistance with differing forms of therapy or medical equipment that allows them to “live life to the fullest.”
