'Touching' | From sparkling cider to tissue paper veil, hospital staff help couple renew vows

With just an hour to prepare, Norton Healthcare staff jumped into action to make this heartwarming dream come true.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Staff at a Louisville hospital recently jumped into action to make a couple’s long-planned dream a reality.

After an unexpected hospital admission this month, Norton Healthcare said a patient’s wife told staff that she had been planning for years to renew the couple's vows.

In less than an hour, hospital staff worked quickly to make the dream come true.

“From decorations and a cake to sparkling cider and a hand-crafted veil made from tissue paper, no detail was overlooked,” officials wrote on social media.

The hospital’s chaplain also helped during the ceremony to officiate the vow renewal.

“This touching ceremony reminded us all of the power of love, teamwork and compassion,” Norton Healthcare said. “Our care goes beyond medical treatment – it’s about creating meaningful moments, even in the most challenging times.”
