LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Thursday afternoon, Jim Beam celebrated the opening of its new Urban Stillhouse downtown.
It features a small working distillery and a one of a kind tasting bar, the Jim Beam Urban Stillhouse is now open to the public at Fourth Street Live.
The company's flagship distillery is in Clermont, KY. But the master distiller said the Urban Stillhouse brings a taste of Jim Beam to downtown Louisville.
"I think people are going to be amazed at what they can see and what they can do right here on 4th Street. It'll be really cool and the whole idea is to give them a little experience and give them a little taste of what we do and get the interest up and with a little luck they'll make the drive down to Clermont and get the full dose of the American Stillhouse."
Kentucky Governor, Steve Beshear, who was on hand for the opening, said the Stillhouse downtown raises the profile of Kentucky's bourbon industry and gives visitors another great reason to come to Louisville.
