LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- Residents in the Portland neighborhood have a new old-fashioned spot to get their meat, a butcher shop.
Galan's Meat Market and Deli opened up at 28th and West Market Street on June 28.
Customers can pick out cuts of their choice to take home or even hang out and grab sandwiches at the counter.
The new spot will give customers a chance to buy fresh meat in an area currently known as a food dessert.
“The butcher does many things…I can't wait to see what this does because this is exactly what this neighborhood needs,” Carlos Galan, the owner, said.
Galan's also offers sides like Mac n Cheese and Potato Salad.
They'll be open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
