HICKORY, Ky. — Nearly 200 jobs are coming to Graves County, Ky. through a $7 million investment from HVAC Distributing, according to Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear.
The company, part of the state’s logistics and distribution industry, has plans to expand to a second location in the Hickory Industrial Park and has purchased a speculative building. The expansion, which will be built close to the company’s existing facility, will help improve shipping speeds and reduce operating costs. It will also bring 175 new jobs to Graves County.
“This is great news for Hickory and all of Graves County,” Sen. Stan Humphries of Cadiz said. “Investments like this will have a noticeable impact here, and I look forward to seeing this investment result in new jobs that will help the local economy and beyond.”
HVAC Distributing, founded in 2013, is a family-owned business that provides logistics support to Ingram’s Water & Air Equipment. Today, the company distributes products for brands like MRCOOL and GeoCool.
“We are truly thankful for this opportunity that allows us to adapt quickly to growing market demand across our industry,” said Jason Ingram, managing member of HVAC Distributing.
Gov. Beshear said the company’s expansion is part of the state’s ongoing effort to support business and economy during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Growth of companies like HVAC Distributing serve as a reminder of the commonwealth’s ability to support a range of industries, which are crucial in securing the state’s long-term economic future,” he said.
If HVAC Distributing can maintain 175 full-time jobs for Kentucky residents and pay their employees $20 per hour for the next 15 years, the company will be eligible for tax incentives through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The company can also receive resources like recruitment and training services from the Kentucky Skills Network.
Graves County is in southwestern Kentucky near the Tennessee border.
