BARDSTOWN, Ky. (LBF) -- Heaven Hill Distilleries Inc. plans to renovate, expand and rebrand its Bourbon Heritage Center, a visitors facility in Bardstown.

The new visitors center is part of a multi-year, $65 million investment plan that also will expand production capacity in Bardstown. It's the latest in a series of investments for the company, which has expanded its production facility in Louisville and added new warehouses for bourbon maturation recently.

Expansion details were announced in partnership with Solid Light Inc., a Louisville-based exhibit designer; Louisville-based Abel Construction Co. Inc. and Kentucky Tourism officials.

With an investment of $17.5 million and an enlarged footprint, the new visitor center in Bardstown will focus on the story of Heaven Hill Distillery since its inception in 1935, according to a news release. The Shapira family behind Heaven Hill also will be a focus, as will brands in the company's portfolio, including Elijah Craig and Larceny.
