NEW ALBANY, Ind. — The farmers market in downtown New Albany opens Saturday starting at 8 a.m.
The New Albany Farmers Market detailed several new safety guidelines that are going to be implemented including the use of personal protective equipment, central entrance and exit locations, and a no-touch policy as it pertains to products.
“We’re excited to reopen the New Albany Farmers Market to the public once again,” said Liz Martino, the market manager. “We are facing unprecedented challenges head on and are taking necessary precautions to keep our community well, and have updated our guidelines to reflect these changes.”
They are asking patrons to wear masks, use the marked entrance and exit, practice social distancing of six-feet at all times, refrain from sending more than one to two family members to shop and to leave dogs at home
Customers should also utilize pre-paid and pre-order options available via the Develop New Albany website.
The New Albany Farmers is open 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturdays at the City Square Pavilion located on the corner of Market and Bank streets in downtown.
Volunteers are still needed for the market to ensure safety and the success of what has been a mainstay of New Albany. Interested people can text VOLFM to 72727.
