LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville restaurant on Bardstown Road announced Wednesday its closing its doors permanently after about 18 months in business.

The owner of Nostalgic Restaurant and Cocktail House, Catherine Mac Dowall, released a statement about the closure.

"It is with a heavy heart that we’re announcing the closure of Nostalgic Restaurant and Cocktail House at the end of this week," Mac Dowall said. "After a wonderful year and a half of serving our community, this was an incredibly difficult decision for us but we will be continuing our hospitality journey with our sister restaurant Naive Kitchen & Bar."

Nostalgic Restaurant and Cocktail House opened in February 2023. The establishment aimed to take dishes eaten during childhood and amplify them with high-quality ingredients and a chef's touch. The restaurant's last day of operation is Sunday, July 28.

"Please join us in our final days of business," Mac Dowell said. "We invite you to join us for one final week of delicious cocktails and food as we remember all of the great times spent here, and to celebrate the memories we've created together. We would love the opportunity to say goodbye and thank you in person."

Guests could walk into any of the three upscale dining rooms where they'd be greeted with a cocktail. The restaurant was the perfect place for customers who enjoy a well-made cocktail and childhood-inspired food in a fine-dining setting.

Not only did Nostalgic create beautiful cocktails and give a nod to childhood-favorite treats, but it was also a chophouse, specializing in all different kinds of meat and drinks.

"Thank you for being part of our journey and for being such a wonderful community," Mac Dowell said. "We look forward to welcoming you to Naive Kitchen & Bar and sharing new experiences in the future."
