LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Publix fans have another reason to celebrate. Publix Super Markets Inc. announced Tuesday, it has signed a lease for a second store in the commonwealth.
The store will be located in Louisville at the northeast corner of Ballardsville Road and Brownsboro Road., according to a news release from the company.
This Publix will feature a 55,701-square-ft of shopping, including a drive-thru Publix Pharmacy. A Publix Liquors will be located right next to the grocery store.
The opening for the store is scheduled to happen in the first quarter of 2024. Publix said a grand opening date has not been determined--yet.
Publix CEO Todd Jones spoke on the supermarket chain’s continued growth into the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
“We are proud to be planting roots in Jefferson County and look forward to building lifelong relationships with our new customers,” he said. “With two planned stores currently in development, we are excited to continue sharing our Publix culture and commitment to service with the Bluegrass State.”
In September, Publix announced its first store that's coming to Kentucky. The 55,70 square-foot store will be located in the Terra Crossing shopping center at the northwest corner of Terra Crossing Boulevard and Old Henry Road.
It's scheduled to open in 2023. No grand opening date has been released.
