LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A popular restaurant in the Highlands has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after being in business for more than 25 years.
Ramsi’s Café on the World on Bardstown Road filed the paperwork Wednesday.
According to documents, the restaurant owes more than $530,000 between the IRS, the Kentucky Department of Revenue and Louisville Finance Department.
It also owes money to Texas-based Uniform Services Company.
Since it is a Chapter 11 filing, it means the business will continue to operate and through the process will restructure with hopes of becoming a viable business again.
Ramsi’s also has a location on Meeting Street in Norton Commons.
They’ve been a staple in the Highlands community since 1994.
