LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville staple Heine Brothers Coffee is turning 30 years old on Tuesday.

"For 30 years, Heine Brothers has been more than just a coffee shop," Co-founder and President Mike Mays said. "It’s a place where some of life's biggest moments happen, where people connect, push our city forward, and find a true home away from home – all with an incredible cup of coffee."

The coffee shop said it is celebrating this milestone by providing free small drip coffees to customers as well as providing "exciting giveaway opportunities" on Tuesday.

"Thank you for playing a part in what makes Heine Brothers more than just a coffee shop," Mays said. "We look forward to celebrating with you and continuing to serve our community for many years to come."

The first cup of coffee Heine Brothers ever served was in the back of the Carmichael's Bookstore off Bardstown Road in 1994 the business said.
