'Pickleball is a super-inclusive sport': Pickleball facility hopes to open in spring 2023

It’s often been called the nation’s “fastest-growing” sport, and Goodbounce Pickleball wants to become the first ‘eat’ertainment complex.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The newest Pickleball facility with riverfront views is almost done.

WHAS11 caught up with “Goodbounce Pickleball,” to see the ongoing phase one development.

They’re working on creating six pickleball courts, a game yard and a restaurant and bar all in the same complex on River Shore Drive.

CEO John Flodder says he hopes this space adds to the already rich park system.

“It’s got fantastic park systems downtown and being a different way of activating and showcasing to the people,” he said. “Hopefully we reverse the flow across the Big Four and people from Indiana come down here.”

It’s often been called the nation’s “fastest-growing” sport, and Goodbounce Pickleball wants to become the first ‘eat’ertainment complex.

“Pickleball is a super-inclusive sport, and it’s also the fastest growing sport in North America and it’s just super fun, you can be five you can be 85 and play and have fun, and it’s a plastic ball and a paddle that was designed in somebody’s driveway,” Flodder said.

He said they hope to expand to 24 courts sometime in the future.
