LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A company that specializes in hempseed ingredients is expanding its operations in Carroll County, Kentucky.
During his weekly news conference, Gov. Andy Beshear announced Victory Hemp Foods will invest $2.5 million into its production, thus creating 22 more full-time jobs that range from executive to manufacturing roles.
“This is an incredible investment in the Carroll County community that will add to the state’s hemp industry, which has a long and successful tradition here in the commonwealth," the governor said. "I want to thank the company’s leadership for their belief in Kentucky and look forward to their continued success.”
Victory Hemp Foods also plans to upgrade its 5,200 square foot facility as part of the investment Beshear said.
CEO Chad Rosen called Kentucky a "supportive home" for the company since 2015.
“We’re looking forward to bringing additional jobs and new value-added agriculture products to the market to help continue to support the advanced agriculture economy in Kentucky," Rosen said.
Victory Hemp Foods focuses on manufacturing products that create allergen-free, high Omega-3 beverages, foods and skin care products according to its website. The company also plans to purchase "hundreds of thousands of acres of hempseed" by 2030 to make hemp the next major crop in North America.
" Victory Hemp’s work in Carroll County has not only revolutionized how people view hemp-related products but also brought about a positive change in our community," Matthew Adkins, the executive director of the Kentucky I-71 Economic Development Alliance, said.
