LOUISVILLE, Ky. — As interest rates for home mortgages continue to remain sky-high, people are flocking to rentals now more than ever. And one of the cities they are renting from in droves is Louisville.
Louisville is the sixth-most sought-after Southern city for renters through the first half of 2024, according to a new study from RentCafe.
Researches found that traffic on Louisville listings pages have increased by 50% compared to the first half of 2023, due to heightened attention from apartment seekers.
Another reason Louisville rental listings are gaining popularity is that there are fewer options available, according to the study. RentCafe reported a 21% decline in available apartments for rent this year.
