LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An Oldham County man is celebrating after playing a new scratch-off ticket from the Kentucky Lottery.

The man from Pewee Valley, who officials said wished to remain anonymous, bought a $50 scratch-off ticket for the new $5,000,000 Fortune ticket at Cubert's Qwik Stop in Shelbyville on Oct. 10. That was the same day the game first went on sale.

The game's top prize is $5 million, the highest scratch-off prize in Kentucky Lottery history.

When the man took the ticket home and scratched it, he realized he had won the game's second prize of $50,000.

"I couldn't believe what I saw so I went back to the store," he told lottery officials. "It was a dream. It was just there, and I was like, wow."

He received a check for $36,000 from the Kentucky Lottery later that day. The man plans to use the money to pay off bills.

Cubert's Qwik Shop also earned $500 for selling the winning ticket.
