LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Many soon-to-be brides and grooms across Louisville are going through a nightmare as a well known Jeffersontown business is closing.
In an email, Noah's Event Venue said it was not able to reach an agreement with its landlord.
"Caitlyn and Carter are getting married on September first." Robyn Thonen said who is the mother of soon to be bride, Caitlyn Thonen. "We don't know what's going to happen at this point."
Caitlin and Carter Mackowsiak booked Noah's Event Venue about eight months ago.
"My daughter is just beyond, she's almost hysterical because she just doesn't know what to do and we've got so many out of town guests," Thonen said. We've got hotels, we've got rooms blocked for it and people have bought their plane tickets."
Thonen's family found out about Noah's Event Venue closing on Tuesday after receiving an email from the company.
"I cried on the way home from work and I'm trying to stay cool and collected for [my daughter] because she's on the brink of not hanging in there too well," Thonen said.
Dozens of soon to be brides expressed their concerns on Facebook groups after not hearing from the venue for several days until they received the notice from the company.
"We are deeply saddened and heartbroken that our landlords rejected our lease offers." Vice President of marketing for Noah's Event Venue, Nick Redd said in a statement.
"So we're hoping maybe something will open up, but there's a lot of venues that don't do anything on a Sunday," Thonen said.
Noah's Event Venue is urging customers to send the company an email in order to get a full refund.
