LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A microbrewery is one step closer to opening in Butchertown. The plan is to develop the former Dryden facility on East Washington Street into a two-story brewery with a rooftop beer garden.

It is still in the planning stages, but the basic design, was cleared by the architectural review committee. According to Metro Planning and Design, they wanted to make sure the new business follows the historic nature of the area.

Another major hurdle of the plan, the parking and loading zones, has been approved as well.

There's no word yet on when it might open.
