LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Goodwill Industries of Kentucky has named West Louisville native Emery Scott Lee the director of its West Louisville Opportunity Center, set to open next week.
The West Louisville Opportunity Center is the nonprofit's largest of its 12 statewide opportunity centers. The 125,000 square-foot campus is expected to open Wednesday, March 20.
Lee is bringing 30 years of professional experience in the area of human service, with focuses on youth, seniors and disadvantaged families in the Louisville community.
Most recently, Lee served as the executive director of the Salvation Army's Center of Hope in Louisville. Additionally, his career has included collaboration with the Lincoln Foundation’s Whitney M. YOUNG Scholars Program, Kentuckiana College Access Center, Louisville Urban League’s Career Development Center, Jefferson Community and Technical College, Louisville Metro Community Action Partnership and the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana.

Lee is also the founder and senior pastor of No Limits Christian Church in Louisville. As a community advocate, Lee has served on several local boards and community organizations, including serving more than 10 years as a member and chair of the Dr. Martin Luther King State Commission.
As the director of the West Louisville Opportunity Center, Lee will be responsible for administrative oversight of the Center, which includes Goodwill’s headquarters operations, career services model, co-located partners and more.
Lee is a native of West Louisville. He grew up one of 11 children and graduated from Jeffersontown High School before attending Eastern Kentucky University and earning a bachelor’s degree in broadcast communication and a master’s in student personnel and counseling. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in educational leadership. He is a proud husband, father and U.S. Air Force Veteran.
