Gaslight Festival returns to Jeffersontown this September with new events

The 2024 Gaslight Festival features 14 events over nine days.

JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. — Jeffersontown's 55th annual Gaslight Festival returns this September with new events and new dates for some long-time favorites.

The 2024 Gaslight Festival will feature 14 events over nine days between September 5 and September 15. The festival's official kickoff will be Saturday, September 7.

"As [the festival] grows we want more people to be able to participate and enjoy the family friendly traditions, and we are laser focused on making sure each experience is fun, entertaining and a positive reflection of our community," Deana Karem, president and CEO of the Jeffersontown Chamber, said.

This year's Gaslight Festival 5K and Balloon Glow have been moved to Saturday, September 7. The 5K race will be at 9 a.m., with the starting line in Gaslight Square. The balloon glow will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Skyview Park.

New for 2024, there will be a food court, located behind Third Turn, with local entertainment, alcoholic beverages and live music all weekend.  

On Tuesday, September 10, numerous restaurants and merchants will offer special with "55" commemorating the festival's 55th anniversary for "Shop Eat Jtown Day."

Children will get to explore emergency and utility vehicles on Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. to noon. That same day, the Jtown Farmer's Market moves to Gaslight Square on Taylorsville Road from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
