LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Kentucky Opera is beginning the search for new leadership after the sudden death of Director David Roth.
The President of the Board of Directors, Bill Blodgett will fill in as the interim.
The Opera's season will go on as planned, beginning with "Macbeth" which debuts September 18.
The board expects the search for Roth's replacement to take quite some time.
"We have no time limits. We want to do a thorough, thoughtful job. So we'll start meeting next week and I suspect it will take many months, possibly a year to get final new management designed and in place," Interim Director, Bill Blodgett said.
The Kentucky Opera is going to dedicate this season to David Roth.
Ticket sales begin on Monday.
