LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) needs the public's help after a teen was found shot in the Shawnee neighborhood Thursday afternoon.
LMPD Second Division officers found a 17-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound near 41st and West Market Streets around 3:15 p.m. Officers began first aid until EMS transported the teen to the University of Louisville Hospital.
Authorities said he is expected to survive his injuries.
Right now, detectives are trying to learn what led up to the shooting and what a possible motive could be. According to LMPD, there are no known suspects.
The department's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is handling the investigation.
