Coroner identifies man, woman killed in murder-suicide in Valley Station

Officers found the victims shot in the 10200 block of Dodge Lane just before 6 p.m. Sunday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Valley Station.

The incident happened in the 10200 block of Dodge Lane just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, according to LMPD.

Officers found a man and woman that had been shot at the scene. The woman was pronounced dead while the man was taken to an area hospital and listed in critical condition. LMPD confirmed the man had died from his injuries just after 9 p.m.

On Tuesday, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the woman as 30-year-old Hayley Thomas. The man, who shot himself in an apparent murder-suicide, was identified as 57-year-old Walter Thomas.

Police said all parties involved in the incident have been accounted for.

No other information about the shooting has been released.

The Homicide Unit is handling the investigation.
